Our schedule is thoughtfully designed to accommodate a range of time zones, ensuring all students have a consistent and supportive learning experience. This guide includes detailed schedule blocks listed in Eastern (EST), Central (CST), Mountain (MST), and Pacific (PST) time zones, along with recommended school day time blocks for each region.

Does your student have times when they're not available during the school day? You can document that in Sora Home! Your student's recurring unavailability blocks will be factored in when schedules are built each cycle using Journey Builder.

Terms to Know

  • Faculty Office Hours: Available to support students with tasks and projects.

  • House Meetings: Scheduled at times to provide a flexible morning schedule for different time zones.

  • Checkpoint Activities: Regularly scheduled to ensure students stay on track with their academic progress.

School Holidays

Sora's master schedule accounts for holidays listed in our School Year calendar. Sora Home's calendar accounts for these holidays when building student schedules each cycle. You can learn more about our school year calendar here: School Year Calendars

On school holidays, including faculty PD days and breaks between cycles, students are not expected to attend any school meetings. This includes expedition sessions, house meetings, assemblies/checkpoints, or office hours.

Monday Holiday Weeks

Whenever Sora observes a school holiday on a Monday, the following schedule changes will occur:

  • Expedition sessions normally held on Mondays will be moved to Tuesday of that week.

  • Expedition sessions normally held on Tuesdays will be moved to Wednesday of that week.

  • Regular scheduling will resume on Thursday and Friday.

Recommended Daily Schedule

  • Eastern Time Zone (EST): 9:00AM - 2:50PM

  • Central Time Zone (CST): 8:40AM - 1:50 PM OR 9:40AM - 4:15PM

  • Mountain Time (MST): 8:40 AM - 3:15 PM

  • Pacific Time (PST): 9:20 AM - 3:15 PM

Mondays/Thursdays

  • Learning Block 1 (1a/1b) typically meets on Mondays/Thursdays at 9AM ET (6AM PT)

  • Daily House Meeting Option 1 (Eastern/Central) meets daily at 10AM ET (7AM PT)

  • Learning Block 2 (2a/2b) typically meets on Mondays/Thursdays at 10:40AM ET (7:40AM PT)

  • Learning Block 3 (3a/3b) typically meets on Mondays/Thursdays at 12:20PM ET (9:20 AM PT)

  • Daily House Meeting Option 2 (Mountain/Pacific) meets at 10AM ET (7AM PT) typically meets daily at 1:20PM ET (10:20AM PT)

  • Learning Block 4 (4a/4b) typically meets on Mondays/Thursdays at 2:00PM ET (11AM PT)

  • Checkpoint activities typically meet daily at 3PM ET (1PM PT)

  • Office Hours are typically held daily (except Wednesdays) at 3:30 PM ET (12:30 PM PT)

  • Learning Block 5 (5a/5b) typically meets on Mondays/Thursdays at 4:25 PM ET (1:25PM PT)

  • Learning Block 6 (6a/6b) typically meets on Mondays/Thursdays at 5:25 PM ET (2:25 PM PT)

    Wednesdays

    Expeditions do not typically meet on Wednesdays (except in the event of special schedules or holiday weeks, which will be noted on Sora Home).

  • Clubs block 1 typically meets Wednesdays at 9:00AM ET (6:00 AM PT)

  • Daily House Meeting Option 1 (Eastern/Central) meets daily at 10AM ET (7AM PT)

  • Flexible program blocks typically meet on Wednesdays at 10:40AM ET (7:40AM PT) and/or 3:30 PM ET (12:30PM PT)

  • Optional student program meetings are held at 11:35AM ET (8:35AM PT)

  • Clubs block 2 typically meets Wednesdays at 12:20PM ET (9:20AM PT)

  • Daily House Meeting Option 2 (Mountain/Pacific) meets at 10AM ET (7AM PT) typically meets daily at 1:20PM ET (10:20AM PT)

  • The weekly student assembly meets Wednesdays at 2:00PM ET (11:00AM PT)

  • Checkpoint activities typically meet daily at 3PM ET (1PM PT)

  • Clubs block 3 typically meets Wednesdays at 4:25PM ET (1:25PM PT)

  • Clubs block 4 typically meets Wednesdays at 5:25PM ET (2:25PM PT)

Tuesdays/Fridays

Additional Activities

  • Extracurriculars typically meet Mondays through Thursdays, in blocks after 5:25 PM. Exact meeting times are updated on student calendars and depend on the extracurricular schedule.

Flexible Programming:

We offer flexible programming blocks to accommodate various learning activities and student needs. These blocks are designed to give students the opportunity to engage in independent projects, extracurriculars, and other school-related activities.

  • Option 1: Daily House Meeting for Eastern/Central Time Zones.

    • EST: 10:00 AM - 10:30 AM

    • CST: 9:00 AM - 9:30 AM

  • Option 2: Daily House Meeting for Mountain/Pacific Time Zones.

    • MST: 11:20 AM - 11:50 AM

    • PST: 10:20 AM - 10:50 AM
