💻 Community is Coming Home
This August, we're bringing our community platform directly into Sora Home, creating a unified space where learning and community come together. By integrating community into the place students and families already use every day, we're making it easier to connect, collaborate, and stay engaged throughout the school year.
Over the past several months, our team has been building toward a more seamless Sora experience based on feedback from our community. Starting in August, the Sora Community will officially launch inside Sora Home, replacing Heartbeat with a more integrated, notification-friendly platform designed and built by our in-house engineering team.
Everything you value about Heartbeat is coming with us, including channels, direct messaging, events, and community groups, all thoughtfully reimagined within a more connected and personalized experience.
💡 Looking Ahead to August: What You Need to Know
💙 Sora Students Server
As in previous summers, the Student Heartbeat server will transition to read-only access on Monday, June 22. Students will still be able to browse channels and view past conversations, but posting and messaging will be paused until the new Community experience launches in August.
We encourage students to enjoy a screen-light, offline summer break. To stay connected with Sora friends, students can use their Sora Gmail accounts, while families may continue coordinating safe ways for students to connect and plan summer social activities through the Parent & Guardian Server.
❤️ Sora Parent & Guardian Server
The Parent & Guardian Heartbeat server will remain fully active throughout the summer and right up until the August launch. We encourage you to continue using it to organize gatherings, share updates, ask questions, and stay connected with the Sora community.
Please Note: Once the new community experience launches in August, Heartbeat will no longer be accessible to Sora students and families. Before then, please download or save any content from your profile that you'd like to keep.
